Japan’s best rice terrace Satoyama Ebike tour [2 nights and 3 days]
From the spectacular terraced rice fields in the mountains of the Reihoku region in the middle of Shikoku, you will find not only the best brand rice in Japan, Tenku no Sato, but also sake and rice shochu made from that rice and loved by the local community. Ebike visits producers who have succeeded in growing rice at high altitudes, which was said to be disadvantageous, and enjoy the fruits of their labour while listening to their traditional wisdom on how to make the most of the local climate and resources. We will also canoe on Lake Sameura, the "Water Turtle of Shikoku" and a precious natural resource for the whole of Shikoku, and take the best rafting course in Japan, created by the Yoshino River, which flows from there, through to Iya.

Highlights of day 1
After meeting at JR Osugi Station, we will immediately cycle along the Yoshino River on eBikes.
After a stop at a sunken bridge on the way, we will climb to the terraced rice fields of Tenku no Sato, the best rice in Japan.
There, we will have lunch with local people with rice balls made from Japan’s best rice and pickles made entirely from local vegetables, followed by a talk on the merits and demerits, hardships and wisdom of rice farming unique to mountainous areas.
Afterwards, we will move to a hotel along Lake Sameura for dinner.
Highlights of day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy canoeing on Lake Sameura, known as Shikoku’s water reservoir.
Located almost in the middle of Shikoku, the lake has a unique natural environment and sustainable lifestyle, and you will enjoy the time that passes slowly as you listen to your guide.
In the afternoon, you will visit two sake breweries, one for rice shochu and the other for sake made from rice from the terraced rice fields you visited yesterday, enjoying a guided tour and sake tasting.
In the evening, you will enjoy a BBQ of local brand beef Tosa Red Beef with the sake.
Highlights of day 3
Participants enjoy rafting courses where world championships are also held.
Courses can be changed according to the level of the participants. There are rapids courses and family courses.
Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and finally change your clothes near Oboke Station before the tour ends.
We will take you back to the station in time for buses and JR trains travelling to Iya, Okayama and Kochi.
